Peruque Creek clean up

Despite the cold weather and unusually high water levels, we jumped into Peruque Creek early Saturday morning to help clean up trash. Volunteers were provided with trash bags, gloves and t-shirts from Missouri’s Stream Team. The group removed a tire, swimming pool, half of a pipe, a hot water heater and many other bags of other trash. Many items had to be left behind because they were too heavy or buried too deeply to remove. These items included a mattress, a large tire, a muffler, a washing machine, a desk and a large metal beam. Despite the cold water everyone enjoyed the clean up so much that they can wait to go back!
